Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. – Ephesians 5:11
Choose This Day
The first half of the fifth chapter of Ephesians directs Christians to walk in love. Paul also cautions you not to be deceived into accepting things that are not true and warns against any compromise with the ways of the world that oppose the life to which God calls you. Seek to discern and embrace what is pleasing to God. Evil can entice with flowery messages and ideas that sound virtuous. However, at the root, you will find “desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life,“ which are not from the Father (1 John 2:16)! Be ready to shine God’s light into the darkness and, as Joshua challenged the people of Israel, choose this day to serve the Lord (Joshua 24:14-15).
